Shanti Thatal

Robin Tamang is a Nepalese singer, musician, actor and founder of rock band Robin & Looza &  Robin and The New Revolution. Born in Singapore, he was youngest of five siblings born to the family of a British Army. Due to the different postings of his father, he moved to several country in his childhood like Hong Kong, Singapore and Brunei. During his schooling in Singapore, he used to listen to Jimmy Hendrix and Deep Purple, who became the true inspirations to him. While he was doing his college in Humber College in Toronto, in the mid-1980s, he formed his second band Tamang and performed at different stages. In 1996, he came back to Nepal and went to Pokhara, his father's place and joined the rock band Looza. He performed together with Looza but soon this journey came to an end after the group disbanded in 2005.

Ustad Anand – Classical VocalistA prominent classical musician of BS 1985 (AD 1928/1929), Ustad Anand has 2 gramophone recordings from BS 1989 (AD 1932/1933) preserved in researcher archives. It is believed he recorded many more songs, but only two discs have been found. His influence in early Nepali ustadi tradition remains notable.

Yama Buddha, whose real name was Anil Adhikari, was a renowned Nepalese rapper and songwriter. He was born on May 30, 1987, in Dhankuta, Nepal, and tragically passed away on January 14, 2017, in London, UK. He is widely regarded as one of the most influential figures in Nepalese hip-hop, often referred to as the "King of Nephop". Yama Buddha's music often addressed social issues, poverty, and personal struggles, resonating deeply with his audience. Some of his popular songs include "Saathi," "Aama," "Yo Prasanga," and "Antya Ko Suruwat". He also created and hosted the rap battle show "Raw Barz," which played a significant role in promoting hip-hop culture in Nepal.  

Deepak Kharel is a legendary figure in the Nepali music scene, celebrated for his soulful voice and deep connection to the lyrical beauty of modern Nepali songs. With a career spanning several decades, Kharel has not only witnessed the evolution of Nepali music but has also played a pivotal role in shaping it. Some of his most beloved and timeless tracks include “Timro Tyo Hasilo,” “Badal Banai Deu,” “Poornima Ko Raat,” “Ma Timro Saath Dinchhu,” and “Hera Na Hera Kancha.” These songs remain staples on Nepali radio and playlists, evoking nostalgia and admiration from generations of music lovers. Deepak Kharel has received numerous awards and honors for his contributions to Nepali music. He has worked closely with acclaimed lyricists and composers such as Ramesh, Bhairav Aryal, and Shanti Thatal, creating musical masterpieces that are still celebrated today. Beyond singing, Kharel has also contributed as a music mentor and has inspired many young artists to pursue music with sincerity and discipline.
