Suraj Kumar Thapa

Suresh Gaire (born December 08, 1981, Telgha‑8, Palpa, Lumbini) is a respected Nepali music director and composer known for his mastery of the Ghazal genre, modern Nepali songs, and Nepali film music. Born to Ravilal Gaire and Laxmi Gaire in a typical agricultural middle‑class family, he is widely regarded as an educated and technically grounded composer with deep knowledge of musical genres. He began his musical journey in 2001 AD and has since contributed more than 300 songs and ghazals, over 15 solo albums, numerous collection albums, and more than 12 music albums as a music director. His melodic sensibility, emotional depth, and consistent output have made him a prominent figure in contemporary Nepali music. Alongside his musical career, Gaire serves the nation as a Deputy Superintendent of the Armed Police Force (Nepal), balancing artistic dedication with public service.

Hira Devi Waiba (1940–2011) was a pioneering Nepali folk singer whose voice became the soul of traditional Nepali music. Born in Ambootia, Darjeeling, she was the first artist to professionally record Nepali folk songs, including the first-ever Tamang Selo track “Chura ta Hoina Astura.” Her career spanned over four decades, during which she recorded more than 300 songs and worked with prestigious platforms like All India Radio, BBC, and His Master’s Voice. She was the first Nepali folk artist to be signed by Music Nepal and remains the only Grade A folk singer with All India Radio. Her timeless songs like “Phariya Lyaaidiyechan” and “Ramri Ta Ramri” continue to resonate across generations. After her passing in 2011, her children Navneet and Satya Aditya Waiba revived her legacy through the tribute project Ama Lai Shraddhanjali. Hira Devi Waiba remains a cultural icon and guardian of Nepali folk heritage.    

Dhiraj Rai , popularly known as the Stage King, is a legendary Nepali singer, songwriter, and musician from Khotang, Nepal. He began his musical journey in 1990 with the song “Luki Luki”, which marked the start of a vibrant career in Nepali pop and rock music. Known for his electrifying stage presence and heartfelt lyrics, Dhiraj Rai became a household name with hits like “Timi Ruda Eklai Huda”, “Mysterious Girl”, and “Himal Najhuke Samma”. His albums such as Premi, Prithak, and Buddha Was Born in Nepal reflect his versatility and deep connection to Nepali identity and global themes. Rai’s music often explores love, longing, and national pride, blending Western rock influences with Nepali sentiment. With over three decades in the industry, he remains a beloved figure and a pioneer of modern Nepali pop-rock.

Tirtha Kumari Thapa is a renowned Nepali folk singer who has been active in the music industry for over five decades. She began her musical journey in 2028 BS with Radio Nepal, recording more than 1,000 songs throughout her career. Her songs often reflect themes of love, nature, and cultural heritage, making her a beloved figure in Nepali folk music. Some of her popular songs include: M Ta Khadin Kuwa Ko Pani Ho Dhunge Bagar Maya Jhanke Phuli, Nakai Ma Bulaki Ukali Ma Pani Hajur Motor Jado Raichha Bari Ko Dil Ma Okharbot Machi Mar Na Hey Dai Ho with Nabin Dhungel She has received numerous awards, including the Prabal Gorkha Dakshin Bahu (2057 BS) and the Birendra Aishwarya Sewa Padak (2058 BS). Recently, she held her first solo musical evening, Tirtha Kumari Swarnim Sanjh 2080, where she performed for nearly two hours, accompanied by her son, Suraj Kumar Thapa, who is also a musician.
