Ramesh Dahal is a Nepali lyricist who is writing lyrics for two and a half decades. Ramesh was born as an elder son of Pashupati Prasad and mother Balkumari Dahal in Dolakha. He has penned over a thousand songs. Among them, around three hundred songs are in the playlist of music lovers. He earned MSc. in Environmental Science & Policy from the USA (Source: Naya Youbodh, Dec 14, 2019). Also, he has taken online lyrics writing classes from Canvas.net and Sameer Anjaan, an Indian lyricist. Ramesh's journey on writing lyrics has begun as a poet. However, he turned himself writing lyrics from 1990. Latter, the writing became a kind of passion and now it is a responsibility of him to portray the lyrics for the listeners from each corner. The learning from real-world work experience has enabled him to captures the heart touching subject matters of very common people (Source: Music Khabar, January 1, 2020). Latter, Ramesh extends knowledge conducting research on Nepali music, songs and their impacts on the transformation of Nepali society. He expresses that after a certain time of contribution to a particular field, the experiences need to be shared with the wide arena. Keeping the fact in mind, Ramesh has written dozens of research articles that may serve as a reference to the interested persons who explore Nepali songs and music (Source: Annapurnapost, October 20, 2019). Also, Ramesh enjoys writing lyrics/poems on global issues in the English language. These creations seem meaningful in the international music market. So, it is hoped that his creations in English will get an appropriate place in the days to come (Source: Music Khabar, January 1, 2019).

Lochan Rijal is a multi-instrumentalist, a singer, songwriter and a scholar of ethnomusicology. Born in the Panchthar district of Nepal, he grew up around music performed at festivals by the local people of that region. The experience influenced him to explore the potential of sound and develop his passion into his profession. While in college, he began teaching music to school children in Kathmandu while also working in the pop and rock music scene, producing award-winning albums, before moving onto something that fed his scholarly ambitions. In 2014, he graduated with a PhD in ethnomusicology from the University of Massachusetts and Kathmandu University. He also works as the associate professor and Head of Kathmandu University’s Department of Music.

Chetan Karki was a legendary Nepali lyricist, film director, screenwriter, and novelist who made a lasting impact on Nepali cinema and music. Born on November 7, 1938, in Syangja, Nepal, he was one of the first screenwriters in Nepali cinema, writing his debut screenplay for Pariwartan. Over his career, he contributed to more than 100 Nepali films as a writer and director. Career Highlights Chetan Karki was known for his versatile storytelling and lyrical compositions. Personal Life & Legacy Chetan Karki passed away on May 16, 2021, due to COVID-19 complications at the age of 83. His contributions to Nepali literature, music, and cinema remain influential, and he is remembered as one of Nepal’s most extraordinary talents.

Saru Bhakta (born 1955), pen name of Bhakta Raj Shrestha, is a celebrated Nepali novelist, playwright, poet, and songwriter, honored with the Madan Puraskar for his landmark novel Pagal Basti, widely regarded as a classic of Nepali literature. A leading figure in post‑1970s Nepali writing, he introduced psychological depth, postmodern narrative techniques, and experimental dramatic forms. He has also contributed significantly to Nepal’s cultural institutions, serving in the Nepal Academy and as Chancellor of the Nepal Music and Drama Academy, while founding multiple literary and theatre organizations in Pokhara.
