Balkrishna Sama (1902 – 20 June 1981) was Nepal’s most influential modern playwright, poet, and literary reformer, widely honored as the Shakespeare of Nepal for his pioneering contribution to Nepali drama. Born in Gyaneshwor, Kathmandu, he began his literary career in the early 1920s, writing socially conscious plays that challenged tradition and expanded the artistic scope of Nepali theatre. His worksincluding Prem Pinda, Bhater, Tansen, and Amar Singh introduced psychological depth, historical imagination, and modern dramatic structure to Nepali literature. A former army officer turned full‑time writer, Sama received Nepal’s highest honors for his cultural impact, and his legacy continues to define the foundation of Nepali drama and stage literature.

Dr. Krishnahari Baral is a distinguished Nepali lyricist, songwriter, poet, literary critic, and author. He was born on January 4, 1954, and is a professor of Nepali at the Central Department of Nepali, Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu. Dr. Baral has written more than forty books, including course books, literary criticisms, and collections of lyric poetry. Dr. Baral's contributions to Nepali literature and music are significant, and he is well-respected in his field. His works often reflect deep cultural and social themes, and he has been recognized for his lyrical poetry and literary achievements.

Kali Prasad Rijal is a celebrated Nepali lyricist and poet. His works are deeply admired for their poetic essence and emotional depth. Some of his classic songs, such as Kehi Mitho Baat Gara, Aankha Chopi Narou Bhani, and Jhareko Paat Jhai, were performed and composed by the legendary Narayan Gopal. Recently, Rijal collaborated with musician Aavaas for the Paleti music series, where Aavaas presented compositions and vocals for Rijal's new lyrics. Additionally, Rijal launched his new book, Kehi Mitho Baat Gara, which features 20 poems and 68 songs, along with staff notations for 10 of his songs to assist musicians. Rijal's contributions to Nepali music and literature have earned him numerous accolades, including awards from the Nepal Academy. His work continues to inspire and resonate with audiences across generations.

Dhanendra Bimal is a respected Nepali lyricist and cultural contributor known for his thoughtful, expressive songwriting rooted in Nepali poetic tradition. His work reflects emotional depth, social sensitivity, and a refined command of language, making him a recognized name in the field of Nepali music and literature.Alongside his creative career, he served in a significant administrative role as the Deputy Executive Director, where he contributed to institutional development, cultural promotion, and organizational leadership. After a long and dedicated tenure, he retired in 2074 BS, marking the completion of a distinguished public‑service career.
