Sushil Pokharel

Gopal Bhutani (born Gopal Tamang, 1932 – November 23, 2010) was a pioneering Nepali art director, actor, and action choreographer who shaped the visual language of Nepali cinema. Born in Fikkal, Ilam, he began his film journey in Bollywood in the 1940s before returning to Nepal, where he introduced action direction to a melodrama-dominated industry. Despite his immense contributions, he struggled to obtain Nepali citizenship due to the “Bhutani” surname. Bhutani worked on over 70 films, including Balidaan, Aago, Shankar, Mamaghar, Shiris Ko Phool, and Jeevan Sangharsha. He passed away at age 78 from stomach cancer. His legacy remains foundational in Nepali film aesthetics and action choreography.

Purna Thapa is a renowned comedian, playwright, and radio program presenter and producer. He was born in Jhamshikhel in the year 2020 B.S. (1963/64 A.D.) to father Haribahadur Thapa and mother Subhalakshmi Thapa. Around 2031/32 B.S. (1974/75 A.D.), satirical performances like “Khirchor” and “Pagal Dance” were being staged in and around Jhamshikhel, Lalitpur. These performances gained significant popularity at the time. The artists behind them were Purna Thapa Magar and his friend Shri Om Shrestha. Among them, Purna Thapa remains a well-known figure in the arts even today. His artistic journey, which began during that period, continues to this day. Purna studied up to Grade 10 at Tika Vidyashram School in Lalitpur and completed his Bachelor's degree in Arts from Patan Campus. Alongside acting, he has also worked in writing and directing. In 2041 B.S. (1984/85 A.D.), he got the opportunity to act in his first radio drama.

Abishek’s character in the movie was noted for mirroring aspects of his real-life personality, providing a strong entry into lead roles in cinema, He has expressed excitement and nervousness about his debut while highlighting the challenges of portraying emotional scenes authentically. Beyond ‘Kumari’, Abishek has joined the upcoming film ‘Shree Niwas’ alongside veteran actor Haribansha Acharya, directed by Aakash Baral and Sajan Kafle with a screenplay by Abhimanyu Nirabi, signaling his continued rise in the industry.
