Kishor Rana

Kishor Rana was a veteran Nepali film director active from 1994 until his passing in 2019, known for shaping the visual and narrative style of several influential Nepali films. Beginning his directorial career with Karja (1994), he went on to direct notable works such as Raanko (1995), Karodpati (1997), Sima Rekha (1997), Gham Chaya (1998), and Ek Number Ko Pakhe (1999). His film Raanko is recognized as Nepal’s first cinemascope movie, and Sima Rekha is regarded as a historically significant film in Nepali cinema. Rana passed away on August 21, 2019, at Nidan Hospital, Lalitpur, at the age of 64, following long‑term kidney complications. His disciplined direction, technical innovation, and contribution to Nepali storytelling remain respected within the industry.

Shiva Regmi (1965–2013) was one of Nepal’s most influential film directors, screenwriters, and producers, known for shaping mainstream Nepali cinema through emotional family dramas, strong female characters, and commercially successful films such as Aafanta, Aafno Manche, A Mero Hajur, Sukha Dukha, Duniya, Hami Tin Bhai, Muglan, and Kaha Bhetiyela. Active from 1991–2013, he directed over 20 major films and contributed as writer, lyricist, production designer, and actor across 100+ film credits. He received multiple National Film Awards, including Best Director (2010, 2012) and Best Writer (2013).

Shanti Das

Shanti Das (also spelled Shanti Das or Shanti Das) was an Indian film art director and set decorator who was active from the 1950s to the 1990s. He also worked as an art director on the Nepali film Maitighar (1966). A master craftsman of the golden age of Hindi cinema, he worked on over two hundred films and helped define the visual language of mainstream Bollywood. He died on August 14, 2011 in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India.
