Roshan K Shrestha

Roshan Das is a Nepali film director, music video director, lyricist, actor, and content creator from Godaita, Sarlahi, Nepal. At the age of 23, he has established himself as one of the emerging young filmmakers in Nepal through his dedication, creativity, and perseverance. Before entering feature filmmaking, Roshan directed more than 70 music videos and wrote over 10 songs. His notable directorial works include Bayan, Aadat, and Ramāune Manchhe, while his songwriting credits include Aafnai Swartha, Naya Itihas, Bhool Bhayo, and songs for his debut feature film Pratibairam. Despite having no formal education in filmmaking, Roshan built his career through practical experience and self-learning. He began creating videos during the COVID-19 pandemic using his father's Android phone before progressing to professional productions. His journey has been defined by persistence, overcoming financial and industry challenges while pursuing his passion for storytelling. His work has earned recognition through several national music awards, including: Jay Prapti Music Awards 2080 – Best Music Video Director (Rang Kada) Epic Nepal Music Awards 2081 – Best Music Video Director (Aadat) Silver Music Awards 2082 – Best Music Video Director (Aafnai Swartha) Jyoti Films Music Awards 2082 – Best Music Video Director (Bayan) Roshan made his feature film directorial debut with Pratibairam, a Nepali horror-comedy film. The project represents years of determination and reflects his vision of creating original, audience-focused cinema. In addition to directing, he also contributed as a lyricist to the film. Committed to continuous growth, Roshan Das aims to bring fresh stories to Nepali cinema while expanding his work to international audiences. His journey from a self-taught creator to an award-winning director reflects his belief that passion, resilience, and hard work can overcome any obstacle.

Pantu Naga is a Nepali cinematographer from 1980 to 1990 known for his basic visual style, natural lighting, and clear narrative framing. Active in feature films and regional productions, he brings emotional depth and visual discipline to his work.

Starting from his early career in the late 1980s, Deepak Dhakal emerged as a dedicated Nepali cinematographer known for his steady contribution to commercial and social‑themed Nepali cinema. He made his debut as a cinematographer with Sindoor and went on to work in more than 20 feature films, shaping the visual tone of 1990s and early‑2000s Nepali filmmaking.Dhakal’s filmography includes notable titles such as Shanti Deep (1989), Cheli Beti (1990), Pheri Bhetaula (1990), Didi (1992), Chokho Maya (1993), Chatyang (1994), Chahana (1994), Sarangi (1994), and Pahilo Prem (1997). His work is remembered for its grounded visual style, clarity in storytelling, and commitment to traditional Nepali cinematographic techniques.Beyond filmmaking, Dhakal served as a professor at Oscar International College, Nepal’s only dedicated film‑teaching institute, and was an active member of NEFTA, contributing to the professional development of the industry. He passed away on 3 December 2015 due to a brain hemorrhage, leaving behind a respected legacy in Nepali cinema.
