John Chamling Rai is a talented Nepali singer-songwriter from Dharan, born on November 5, 1998. He began his musical journey at age four with a guitar gifted by his father, and honed his skills through church choirs and acoustic covers of artists like Tribal Rain, Sajjan Raj Vaidya, and Neetesh Jung Kunwar. His debut single “Prasna” (2020) marked the start of a prolific career, followed by viral hits like “Sadhana,” “Hawa Jastai,” and “Samaya Ley.” John studied corporate finance at the University of Copenhagen, Denmark, and now leads the band John and The Local, blending folk, pop, and introspective lyricism. Durga Prasad Khatiwada is a renowned Nepali bansuri (flute) maestro, educator, and cultural ambassador, originally from Ilam. A graduate of Banaras Hindu University with a Master’s in Flute (2003), he has performed in over 20 countries, representing Nepal at prestigious events—including during state visits by leaders like Xi Jinping and Narendra Modi. Khatiwada is a music officer at Rastriya Nachghar and has taught classical music at institutions like Lalit Kala Campus and Sirjana College of Fine Arts. He pioneered flute education in Nepal’s higher education system by developing formal curricula. His international teaching includes sessions in Norway, Sweden, Germany, and France. Inspired early on by Gopal Yonjan, Khatiwada has dedicated his life to promoting classical music as the foundation of all musical forms. His performances and teachings emphasize peace, discipline, and cultural identity, making him a vital figure in Nepal’s musical heritage.    

Shakti Ballav Shrestha is a distinguished Nepali music composer and singer, renowned for his significant contributions to the country's music industry. Early Life and Education: Born on February 5, 1959, in Charikot, Dolakha, Nepal, Shakti Ballav is the son of Laxmi Kumar Shrestha and Khadga Kumari Shrestha. He pursued a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Trichandra College, Kathmandu. His musical education was under the tutelage of the late Chetnath Sharma, specializing in Eastern Classical Music. Musical Career: Shakti Ballav commenced his journey in music composition in 1975 (2032 B.S.). His first recorded piece aired on Radio Nepal in 1978 (2035 B.S.), featuring lyrics by Dr. Dirgha Singh Bam and vocals by Pratap Adhikari.
