Tara Devi, revered as “The Nightingale of Nepal,” was one of the most influential and beloved voices in Nepali music. Born on 15 January 1945 in Indrachowk, Kathmandu, she began singing at Radio Nepal as a young teenager and soon emerged as the defining female voice of modern Nepali music. Over a career spanning four decades, she recorded more than 4,000 songs, ranging from modern melodies and patriotic anthems to devotional and folk compositions, shaping the emotional and cultural soundscape of an entire nation.Her voice—soft, expressive, and deeply emotive—became synonymous with Nepali identity. Songs like “Phool Ko Thunga,” “Udi Jaun Bhanne,” “Mann Ko Bandh,” “Bhimsen Thapa,” and countless others remain timeless classics, cherished across generations and the global Nepali diaspora. Tara Devi’s artistry elevated Nepali music to new heights, bringing refinement, dignity, and lyrical depth to the modern genre.In recognition of her extraordinary contribution, she received some of Nepal’s highest national honors, including the Jagadamba Shree Award (2050 B.S. / 1993 A.D.), the Indra Rajyalaxmi Pragya Puraskar, the Chhinnalata Puraskar, the Maina Puraskar, and the Nai Sur Samman. She was also decorated with the Prabal Gorkha Dakshin Bahu (First Class), the Mahendra Ratna Abhushan, the Gaddi Arohan Rajat Padak, and the Birendra Aishwarya Sewa Padak, along with numerous other national and international recognitions.Despite personal tragedies later in life, Tara Devi continued to embody grace, devotion, and artistic integrity. She passed away on 23 January 2006, leaving behind a monumental legacy that continues to inspire singers, musicians, and music lovers across the world. Her voice remains a cultural treasure—an enduring symbol of Nepal’s musical soul.

Rita KC is a celebrated Nepali singer known for her expressive voice and versatility across modern, folk, and devotional genres. Her standout tracks include: Na Timile Aantyau Mutu Chudinchha Bhanne Timi Pani Harayau Salyanko Chino Laijau Paiya Wala Rail and Koi Aayo Sustari In 2025, Rita KC was honored as a Grand Jury Member on Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Lil' Champs Nepal Season 2, where she joined a panel of esteemed musicians to mentor and uplift young singing talents. Her presence brought warmth, experience, and a deep understanding of vocal artistry to the show. She is also the winner of the 7th National Capital Award (2020) in the Singer category and continues to advocate for artistic integrity over fleeting trends.

Ramkrishna Dhakal is a very famous young musical artist or more specifically a singer (of modern-flavored songs) from Nepal. He started his musical carrier since his early childhood by singing famous songs by Narayan Gopal - also known as Swor-samrat (= Emperor of Voice). During his early period he struggled by singing amongst his group but after he got a break he established himself as one of the best Nepali singers. He rose to fame with his song "Orali lageko harin ko chhal bho". . People were impressed by his singing ability and voice (although not mature). He modelled his singing style after Narayan Gopal; Dhakal acknowledges that he is a big fan of the late maestro. It would be fair to say that he benefitted from the void left by Narayan Gopal's death. People were looking for some one to fill the void. In fact, they were looking for the next Narayan Gopal. He has been successful so far. He has released several very popular albums of modern songs/ghazals (adhunik geet). All his album names so far have started with the letter "A". Aashish, Aashirbad, Asha, Aroha, Aashraye, Adhar, and Aagraha. Among them, Aasha is the most popular album. Apart from adhunik geet, he has also sung bhajans and patriotic songs (rastriya geet) and many film songs. RamKrishna Dhakal also acted in (a lead role) in a Nepali film, Aashirbad. The story was based or inspired by his own personal story of struggle and his rise to fame helped by his god-father Gopal Karmacharya.

Ajit Ghising Tamang was born on February 14 in Thulopakhar-1, Sindhupalchowk, as the eldest son of Dil Bdr. Tamang and Pancha Maya Tamang. Raised in a middle-class family, he has one brother and two sisters. Growing up, Ajit was shy and reserved, especially around girls, but he gradually became more open and confident as he progressed through his education. He completed his schooling up to grade 10 at Shree Kakaling School in Sindhupalchowk. Later, he moved to Kathmandu, where he pursued his +2 and Bachelor of Arts degrees from Ratna Rajya College. Initially, he had no aspirations to become a singer; his interest in music developed during his college years. Encouraged by friends, he began singing and took music classes at institutions like Kirateshwor, Sadhana Kala Kendra, and Jana Sanskriti Manch. He expresses deep gratitude to his teachers, including Madhu Gurung, Bishnu Lama, and Prakash Gurung, for their support and encouragement. Ajit's musical journey began with recording a song on a whim, which led to his first album, "Path", released in 2063 BS (2006 AD). He followed it up with "Dahar" in 2065 BS (2008 AD) and later "Taali". Over the years, he has recorded over 95 songs, showcasing his versatility as a singer, composer, and music arranger.
