Samten Bhutia is a Nepali filmmaker, screenwriter, and theatre‑trained storyteller known for his visually grounded, character‑driven approach to cinema. Emerging from the eastern Himalayan creative community, he has directed and written several Nepali and regional films, often blending realism with emotional, socially rooted narratives. Bhutia’s work reflects a strong command of performance direction and atmospheric visual tone, making him a distinctive voice among contemporary Nepali directors.

Madhab Raj Kharel  (Madhab Kharel) is a prominent figure in the Nepali film industry. He began his career in 1998 with his first written and directed drama, "Jana Chetana," which became immensely popular in Nepal at that time. Following the success of "Jana Chetana," he produced and directed telefilms such as "Kasur" and "Kasto Yo Jiwan." Throughout his career, Kharel has directed several films that focus on human rights, love stories, research-based subjects, and women's rights. Some notable films in his directorial portfolio include "Hyebe Karait Bhor," "Birano Maya," "Dhunge Yug" (the first Nepali Silence movie ), "Dhunge Yug ... The Human Civilization," "Gadhimai 2066," "Durgamandu" & "Chitthi" In addition to his filmography, Kharel has directed around two dozen plus documentary films and over two dozen music videos to date. His contributions to the industry have been recognized through various awards and honors. Some of the accolades he has received include the Jury in Samjhana Digital Film Award (D-Cine Award) 2010, Sudaradevi Music Award in 2015 and 2018, Music Khabar Music Award in 2015, Model Songs Awards in 2018, Nepal Cultural International Film Festival in 2018 & 2021, Sagarmatha Music Award in 2018, Rastriya Sangeetkarmi Music Award in 2018, National Entertainment Award in 2021, and the Nepal-Africa Film Festival in 2021 & 2022. Kharel also holds a Guinness World Records, and he has been honored with the Best Director Awards and has also been decorated with the prestigious 'Prabal Janasewa Shree - Fourth' for his enormous contribution in Nepali cinema and arts. Madhab Raj Kharel's contributions have significantly impacted the Nepali film industry, and he continues to be an influential figure in the field. Narayan Puri is a veteran Nepali film director known for his contributions to the golden era of Nepali cinema. Born on January 15, 1968, in Syangja, Nepal, he has directed several acclaimed films that span genres from drama to action. His notable works include Shankar (1997), Ragat (1997), Mamaghar (2002), and Aago (2000), all of which are remembered for their storytelling and emotional depth. Puri’s directorial style often blends social realism with strong character arcs, and he played a key role in shaping the narrative tone of 1990s and early 2000s Nepali films. His film Mero Hajur (2002) also gained popularity for its romantic elements and musical appeal.
