Nepal has many flautists but no one has completed his Masters in flute-playing as has Jeevan Ale, He completed his Masters from the Prayag Institute of Illahabad, India. Having devoted more than half of his life to classical music, this resident of Mahottari has finally received accolades for his efforts. Though interested in flutes from an early age, Ale says that he only understood the intensity of its music when he started studying it. he was more involved in the academic side of music rather than the practical. He taught at Kathmandu University and also gave private tuitions.

As a child, he was more interested in playing the drums. However, at the age of 14, he began learning the sarangi from his uncle, Bikram Gandharva, who was also a sarangi player. Born in Dashrathchand Municipality, Baitadi, in the Sudurpaschim Province of Nepal, Pela has spent over two decades enriching the Nepali music scene with his artistry and mentorship. Classical Music Journey Studied Indian classical music at Prayag Sangeet Samiti, Allahabad, India. Trained under Guru Debashish Dev and Pandit Dhana Bahadur Gopali. Founded Shree Krishna Gurukul Sangeet Pathshala in Banasthali, Kathmandu. As a music instructor and founder, he has mentored numerous young talents who now contribute actively to Nepali music. Dhana Bahadur Gopali is one of Nepal's most respected Hindustani classical vocalists, music educators, composers, and authors. With a musical journey spanning more than four decades, he has devoted his life to the study, performance, and teaching of classical music, earning recognition as one of Nepal's finest music gurus.Born in Thankot, Kathmandu, Gopali developed an interest in music during his childhood through local theatre productions, where he often played leading roles that required singing. His passion for music deepened after successfully passing the Radio Nepal Voice Test in 2034 B.S., encouraged by musician Amar Raj Sharma. Although he initially studied Economics, he later realized that music was his true calling and enrolled at Lalitkala Campus to pursue formal studies in classical music.A dedicated practitioner of riyaz (musical practice), Gopali became known for his extraordinary discipline, often practicing up to 18 hours a day. This unwavering commitment helped him develop exceptional vocal technique, musical understanding, and artistic maturity. He believes that proper training and systematic practice are essential for preserving the voice and has spent decades guiding students with the same philosophy.He earned Sangeet Praveen (Master's equivalent) with First Division from the Prayag Sangeet Samiti, Prayagraj (Allahabad), India, after completing Sangeet Prabhakar (Bachelor's equivalent) from the same institution. He also obtained a Bachelor's degree in Music from Lalitkala Campus, Tribhuvan University.Throughout his career, Gopali has taught music at several leading institutions, including Ratna Rajya Campus, Padma Kanya Multiple Campus, and Kalanidhi Indira Sangeet Mahavidyalaya, where he has served in academic leadership. As a Grade-I vocalist at Radio Nepal, he has performed both classical and modern songs, while also mentoring generations of musicians.His musical training was shaped under eminent gurus including Rangrao Kadambari (India), Nararaj Dhakal, and Dharmananda Rajopadhyay, whose guidance helped establish his deep understanding of Hindustani classical music.In addition to performing and teaching, Gopali has made significant contributions to music education by authoring music textbooks for Grades 6, 7, and 8 under Nepal's national curriculum.
