Laboni Chakraborty is a talented Nepali classical singer originally from Kolkata, India. She has made a significant impact on Nepal’s contemporary classical music scene, captivating audiences with her soulful renditions. She is also a judge on the Mero Voice Universe talent show.  Early Life & Education Laboni Chakraborty grew up in a musical family, where her father and relatives were singers. She began learning music at the age of five under the guidance of Baishali Juardhar. Later, she trained under Ajoy Chakrabarty, a renowned Hindustani classical vocalist, for ten years. She pursued her academic degree in music at Rabindra Bharati University, where she was a gold medalist in her master’s program. Career & Contributions Despite her strong musical foundation in India, Laboni Chakraborty chose to work in Nepal, where she has become one of the most respected classical singers. She teaches music at Lalit Kala Campus, Tribhuvan University, and runs her own music school, Raagrup, where she mentors aspiring musicians. She has performed in various prestigious events, including the Yalamaya Classic, where her rendition of Vilambit and Madhya Khayal in Raag Todi received a standing ovation. Tara Devi, revered as “The Nightingale of Nepal,” was one of the most influential and beloved voices in Nepali music. Born on 15 January 1945 in Indrachowk, Kathmandu, she began singing at Radio Nepal as a young teenager and soon emerged as the defining female voice of modern Nepali music. Over a career spanning four decades, she recorded more than 4,000 songs, ranging from modern melodies and patriotic anthems to devotional and folk compositions, shaping the emotional and cultural soundscape of an entire nation.Her voice—soft, expressive, and deeply emotive—became synonymous with Nepali identity. Songs like “Phool Ko Thunga,” “Udi Jaun Bhanne,” “Mann Ko Bandh,” “Bhimsen Thapa,” and countless others remain timeless classics, cherished across generations and the global Nepali diaspora. Tara Devi’s artistry elevated Nepali music to new heights, bringing refinement, dignity, and lyrical depth to the modern genre.In recognition of her extraordinary contribution, she received some of Nepal’s highest national honors, including the Jagadamba Shree Award (2050 B.S. / 1993 A.D.), the Indra Rajyalaxmi Pragya Puraskar, the Chhinnalata Puraskar, the Maina Puraskar, and the Nai Sur Samman. She was also decorated with the Prabal Gorkha Dakshin Bahu (First Class), the Mahendra Ratna Abhushan, the Gaddi Arohan Rajat Padak, and the Birendra Aishwarya Sewa Padak, along with numerous other national and international recognitions.Despite personal tragedies later in life, Tara Devi continued to embody grace, devotion, and artistic integrity. She passed away on 23 January 2006, leaving behind a monumental legacy that continues to inspire singers, musicians, and music lovers across the world. Her voice remains a cultural treasure—an enduring symbol of Nepal’s musical soul.

Dr. Ramesh Pokharel is a renowned Nepali classical vocalist, academic, and educator. He serves as an Associate Professor at Lalitkala Campus, Tribhuvan University, and previously served as the Campus Chief of the institution. He is widely respected for his contributions to Hindustani classical music, music education, and cultural preservation in Nepal.Born in Inaruwa, Sunsari, Dr. Pokharel developed an interest in music at an early age under the influence of his family. He later pursued formal training in classical music in Varanasi (Banaras), India, one of the foremost centers of Hindustani classical music. Alongside his academic career, he has remained an active performer, music educator, and mentor to aspiring musicians.Dr. Pokharel has dedicated his career to promoting classical music through concerts, lectures, workshops, and university education. He also played a significant role in initiating the Bagmati Aarati at the Pashupatinath Temple, contributing to Nepal's cultural and spiritual heritage.

Bikyy Karki is a Nepali singer-songwriter and composer known for his heartfelt lyrics and mellow acoustic style. Some of his notable songs include: “Oh Pyali” – a romantic and playful fan favorite “Ramro Manchhe” – a soulful reflection on goodness and human connection “Dherai Raksi Piunchhu Aajkal” – a personal, introspective piece penned in 2018 and released in 2024 “Ganja Ko Sahara” (2021/2024 re-release) – a folk-pop song about heartbreak and coping, featuring sarangi by Prince Nepali and mixed by Ujjawal Shreyan Mahat His collaboration with sound designer Rikesh Gurung and recording at Kripa Drishya Digital gives his work a distinct sonic texture. Bikyy’s hands-on involvement in composition, lyrics, and vocals reflects his commitment to authenticity and storytelling.
