Hirabai Singer

Gopal Yonjan (1943–1997) was a towering figure in Nepali music—an accomplished singer, lyricist, music director, arranger, flutist, and multi-instrumentalist. Born in Darjeeling, India, he began his musical journey with the flute, winning accolades as a young performer. His deep study of Nepali folk, Rabindra Sangeet, and classical traditions shaped a career that spanned over three decades and more than 2,000 compositions. Yonjan moved to Kathmandu in 1967 to pursue his MA in Nepali and taught music at prestigious schools while composing for Radio Nepal, Nepal Police Club, and films. His partnership with Narayan Gopal is considered the golden era of Nepali modern music. He was known for blending poetic depth with rich orchestration, often writing, composing, and arranging his own songs. His works spanned genres—patriotic, romantic, philosophical, spiritual, and children's music. He was honored with the Gorkha Dakshin Bahu, Chinnalata Song Award, and multiple Best Music Director titles. His legacy continues to inspire generations of musicians and listeners.

Nabin K Bhattarai is the singer and principal musician in Nepal. He has given his fans 14 music albums till date. His music has a pop and rock combo that found success with a blend of ’70’s rock influences and slick hooks. Active across multiple decades, he is known for his soft, emotional delivery and his ability to blend modern melodies with classic Nepali sentiment.Siwakoti has performed and recorded numerous popular tracks such as “Aashu Bagayera,” “Dilma Basi,” “Najureko Lagan Hamroo,” “Aakha Nalagauna Kasto Kasto Hunchha,” and “Aakha Bhari Timrai Tasbir.” His voice features across albums like Bibash (2014), Chinari (2018), Bhogai Bhinna Bhinna (2018), and several singles released between 2019–2025, including Aakha Nalagauna Kasto Kasto Hunchha and Milanma Hudo Raichha.

Prashna Shakya is a Nepali pop singer. In 2003, Hits FM awarded her Best Pop Performance Female. Prashna Shakya was born in Dharan, Nepal. Her parents are Sumitra and Binod Shakya. She has a sister and brother. When she was a teenager, her parents wanted her to pursue sports in school. Shakya preferred music and performed at school and began taking music lessons, including studying under Dibya Khaling. She participated in a singing contest by Radio Nepal and was named a finalist.
