Pratibha Ko Dabali is Nepal’s first reality television show, launched on Nepal Television in 1988/89 (2045/46 BS) under the direction and creation of Shambhujeet Baskota, introducing a groundbreaking multi‑talent format where emerging artists from across the country showcased singing, dancing, instrumental performance, comedy, acting and other creative expressions on a national stage. Each episode featured a different chief guest and a different host, giving the program a fresh tone and unique energy every week, while the outdoor filming at historic locations added cultural depth and visual identity. The show became a landmark platform that helped many performers rise to national recognition and is regarded as the foundation of Nepal’s modern reality‑show culture.
