Arun Thapa

Arun Thapa (1952–1999) was a beloved Nepali singer-songwriter known for his soulful voice and emotionally resonant lyrics. Born in Calcutta, India, he moved to Kathmandu as an infant and later studied in Darjeeling before returning to Nepal to pursue music. His career began in the early 1970s, with his first major hit Jati Maya Laye Pani launching him into national fame. Thapa’s music often reflected themes of love, longing, and introspection, inspired by a personal heartbreak during his college years. His compositions blended poetic depth with melodic simplicity, earning him a devoted following. He worked briefly at Nepal Bank Limited before dedicating himself fully to music, recording for Radio Nepal and releasing two acclaimed albums: Arun and The Best of Arun. Despite battling lung and liver ailments, he continued to sing until his passing in 1999. His legacy lives on through his timeless songs, many of which are considered sadabahar (evergreen) classics.

Deepak Swopnil Shrestha is a versatile Nepali singer, composer, and music educator with over 2 decade of contribution to the Nepali music industry. With more than 100 recorded songs, he has released two pop‑adhunik albums, ‘Result’ and ‘Obtain’, and has composed a Newari album, a bhajan album, and two children’s music albums. Born in Dolakha Bazaar, he grew up inspired by his father’s singing and began performing in local competitions from a young age. He started his professional journey in 2054 BS, later moving to Kathmandu to study Eastern Classical Music at Lalit Kala Campus, earning a BMus degree. In 2060 BS, he represented Nepal at Zee TV’s ‘Saregama World Series’ in Dubai, gaining exposure to musical legends such as Ghulam Ali and Jagjit Singh. A dedicated teacher, he now teaches music in multiple schools.

CD Vijaya Adhikari (born 20 August 1991, Lahachok, Pokhara) is a prominent Nepali singer, composer, and playback vocalist, widely recognized for his versatile voice across classical, semi‑classical, ghazal, modern, and patriotic genres. Active since 2010, he rose to national fame after winning The Voice of Nepal Season 1 in 2018, establishing himself as one of the leading modern vocalists of his generation.He has recorded over 200 songs, including major hits such as “Doori Majboori,” “Man Magyau Man Diye,” “Nasha Piune Bani Bhayo,” “Malai Ta Birsinchau Hola Timile,” “Dhan Lai Maya Gariraichhau,” “Mero Lash Ko Malami,” and “Jhanakuti Jhai Jhai (Doli).” His first playback song was for the Nepali film Doli (2018).Adhikari was also one of the 365 vocalists featured in the Guinness World Record‑setting environmental song “Melancholy”, recognized for the most vocal solos in a single recording.Born to Chandra Kanta Adhikari and Durga Devi Adhikari, he grew up in Machhapuchchhre‑4, Lahachok, where early exposure to folk and adhunik music shaped his artistic foundation.
