Rachana Rimal

Lochan Rijal is a multi-instrumentalist, a singer, songwriter and a scholar of ethnomusicology. Born in the Panchthar district of Nepal, he grew up around music performed at festivals by the local people of that region. The experience influenced him to explore the potential of sound and develop his passion into his profession. While in college, he began teaching music to school children in Kathmandu while also working in the pop and rock music scene, producing award-winning albums, before moving onto something that fed his scholarly ambitions. In 2014, he graduated with a PhD in ethnomusicology from the University of Massachusetts and Kathmandu University. He also works as the associate professor and Head of Kathmandu University’s Department of Music.

Sushma Shrestha, later known as Poornima, is a distinguished playback singer of Nepali Newar heritage whose voice became a defining presence in South Asian cinema. Rising to fame as a child singer in the 1970s, she delivered several timeless hits marked by clarity, emotional purity, and effortless melodic control. Alongside her celebrated Bollywood career, she contributed memorable songs to Nepali music, earning admiration across generations. With a career spanning decades, Shrestha remains recognized for her versatility, youthful vocal texture, and enduring influence on film playback singing.

Shanta is a folk and modern singer. Her first musical album is 'Bacha'. She studied music at Bageshwori Music School in Butwal. She is currently operating a business in Japan.

Juna Prasai is a Nepali singer known for her contributions to modern and folk music. She has released several songs, including "Bhailini Aaye", a popular Tihar festival song, and "Nadekheko Bhaye", a Nepali pop song. Her music blends traditional Nepali elements with contemporary styles, making her a recognized figure in the industry. She has collaborated with various artists and has been featured on platforms like Music Nepal and Dhaulagiri Digital Nepal. Her songs often reflect themes of love, culture, and celebration.
