Garima Panta (born 30 January 1984 in Tanahun) is a Nepali film actress best known for her acclaimed performance in Jhola (2013/14), a film portraying the historical sati system, which brought her national and international recognition. Beginning her career as a teenager in television commercials, she went on to appear in more than two dozen films, including Preeti Ko Phool, Teen Ghumti, Rang Baijani, Thuli, Sasu Nanda Bhauju, Arjun Dev, Sundar Mero Naam, Phool, and Samjhana. In 2016, she married Hari Sharma Thapaliya and later moved to Belgium, where she became less active in Nepali cinema while dedicating part of her wedding budget to establishing scholarships in schools in her birthplace.
