Sharmila Pandey (Budhathoki) is a leading Nepali film producer known for shaping modern Nepali cinema through acclaimed films such as Love Love Love (2017), Ghar (2017), Changa Chait (2019), Aama (2020), Chiso Manchhe (2022), and the Indo‑Nepali thriller Parastree (2023). Sharmila Gurung is a senior Nepali folk and dohori singer known for her powerful, earthy vocal style and her mastery of traditional genres such as salaijo, kauda, roila, and lok‑dohori. Born in Syangja, Iladi, she began her musical journey after passing the Radio Nepal vocal test in 2056 BS, recording her first song “Nilo Pachauri”, which became a widely recognized hit of its time.Over the years, Sharmila has recorded over 1,000 folk songs, including enduring favorites such as “Ballai Bho Bheta,” “Kali Ganga Taren,” “Farka Muglani,” “Rani Ghataima,” and numerous salaijo and Gurung cultural songs.
