Gaurav's journey into acting was inspired by his father's career, and he pursued formal training in acting at the Pune Institute of Acting and Kishor Namit Kapoor Acting Lab in Mumbai, India. He gained recognition for his role in Hostel, a film that resonated with his own experiences of growing up in a hostel.
