Jayanendra Chand Thakuri (1942–2020) was a prolific Nepali film actor whose career helped shape the foundation of modern Nepali cinema. A former Indian Army serviceman and Jawalakhel Youth Club cricketer, he entered films with Jeevan Rekha (1982) and went on to appear in over 100 films, becoming one of the most recognizable character actors of his era. Samde Sherpa is Nepal’s first stand‑up comedian and a pioneering film artist known for introducing caricature‑based stage comedy to the country. Honored with the Rastriya Smriti Puraskar (2072), he remains a foundational figure in modern Nepali comedy.

Rama Thapaliya is a veteran Nepali film actress active since 1996, known for her strong presence in character roles across more than 30 feature films. Her career spans classic, modern, and contemporary Nepali cinema, with notable performances in Mukundo (1999), Kasle Choryo Mero Man (2010), Chha Maya Chhapakkai (2019), Dimag Kharab (2023), and Boksi Ko Ghar (2024). She is widely recognized for portraying motherly, emotional, and socially grounded characters, making her one of the most consistent supporting actresses in Nepali film history.
