Dharma Raj Thapa, honored with the title Jana Kabi Keshari, was a legendary Nepali folk singer and poet. Born in 1924 in Pokhara, Nepal, he became one of the most influential figures in Nepali folk music. His songs, such as Hariyo Danda Maathi and Nepali Le Maya Maaryo Barilai, captured the essence of Nepal’s landscapes and traditions. Thapa was not only a singer but also a poet and cultural historian. He collected and preserved folk songs, ensuring that Nepal’s musical heritage remained alive. His contributions earned him numerous awards, including the Madan Puraskar and Indrarajyalaxmi Puraskar. Basanta Sapkota is a renowned Nepali music composer and lyricist who has significantly contributed to the Nepali music industry. Sabin Rai is a Nepali Singer and lyricist who is called as the Bryan Adams of Nepal because of the voice. His first successful single was "Komal Tyo Timro" from the album Sataha. Although his song "Ekai Aakash Muni" was released before Sataha.

Arun Thapa (1952–1999) was a beloved Nepali singer-songwriter known for his soulful voice and emotionally resonant lyrics. Born in Calcutta, India, he moved to Kathmandu as an infant and later studied in Darjeeling before returning to Nepal to pursue music. His career began in the early 1970s, with his first major hit Jati Maya Laye Pani launching him into national fame. His compositions blended poetic depth with melodic simplicity, earning him a devoted following. He worked briefly at Nepal Bank Limited before dedicating himself fully to music, recording for Radio Nepal and releasing two acclaimed albums: Arun and The Best of Arun. Despite battling lung and liver ailments, he continued to sing until his passing in 1999. His legacy lives on through his timeless songs, many of which are considered sadabahar (evergreen) classics.
