Lekhnath Niraula

Jitendra Mahat Abhilasi (1956–2004) was a pioneering Nepali stage, radio, television, and film actor known for his powerful voice, disciplined craft, and exceptional contribution to Nepali performing arts. Born on 11 September 1956 in Kabilas, Nuwakot, he began his artistic journey as a student with a deep interest in theatre and literature. Abhilasi wrote, directed, and acted in his first historical play “Shree 5 Ranabahadur Shah” (1969) and went on to perform in over 482 radio dramas, 460 radio scripts, and more than 60 stage plays. He appeared in around 40 telefilms and over three dozen feature films including Manko Baadh, Basudev, Anyaya, Koseli, Chino, Basanti, Lagangatho, and Simarekha. Renowned for his radio drama legacy and versatile screen presence, Abhilasi remained one of Nepal’s most respected multi‑disciplinary artists until his passing on 27 September 2004.

Shanti Maskey (born Magh 5, 1983 B.S. in Gorkha; passed away Magh 4, 2067 B.S.) was one of the most influential and pioneering actresses in Nepali performing arts. Known for her powerful presence across film, theatre, radio, and music, she helped shape the early identity of Nepali cinema and became a cultural icon whose legacy continues to inspire generations. She was passionate about singing, gifted with a naturally melodious voice. Her formal musical journey began in Biratnagar, where she introduced herself as a singer through Prajatantra Radio, gaining recognition for her expressive vocal style. This early artistic exposure strengthened her foundation before she transitioned into full‑time acting.

Saroj Lamichhane is an internationally recognized blindfolded speed painter and Nepali performing artist whose work bridges visual art, cinema, and therapeutic practice. Known for his high‑precision live painting performances across Nepal, India, the Middle East, and Europe, he has become one of the most visible Nepali art personalities on global stages. In film, Lamichhane has appeared as an actor and creative performer, bringing his expressive physicality and artistic discipline into character‑driven roles. His unique background as a speed painter and art therapist informs his screen presence, making him a distinctive figure in Nepali cinema’s new generation of multidisciplinary artists. He is also active as a motivational speaker and lecturer, conducting workshops on creativity, emotional healing, and art‑based therapy for students, corporate groups, and social organizations.

Starting from his early creative journey in the 1990s, Akash Adhikari (born January 5, 1970) is a prominent Nepali actor, director, producer, writer, and lyricist, recognized for his strong and dignified presence in the Nepali film industry. He has released 19 feature films in Nepal and abroad, establishing himself as one of the most versatile and influential figures in contemporary Nepali cinema.Adhikari made a glorious directorial debut with Ranabhoomi (1998), winning Best Director and Best Movie awards. Since then, he has acted in and directed several acclaimed films, including Panchhi (2001), Daag (2001), Krodh (2006), Shasan (2011), Kathmandu (2010), Kohinoor (2014), and Kanchhi (2018).He is also the founder and CEO of The Sky Movies Pvt. Ltd., established in 1999 A.D., through which he has produced and directed numerous successful films. His contributions extend to screenwriting, story writing, research, production design, and lyric writing, making him one of the most multi‑disciplinary creators in Nepali cinema.Adhikari has been honored with several prestigious awards, including the Dadasaheb Phalke Film Foundation Award 2023 for Best Actor/Director, the Prawal Jana Sewa Padak 2019, and the National Professional Achievement Award 2021.
